Proof of Concept
R&D Compass is a proof of concept and technology prototype developed by LETO SPACE. The platform is currently being further developed in cooperation with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI). The FFG provides the underlying project data; BMIMI is the proof-of-concept sponsor and represents the research-policy perspective. LETO SPACE is responsible for design, development and operation of the platform.

AI-generated content
Chat answers and AI-generated summaries are produced from FFG-published project data using large language models hosted on EU servers. In addition, publicly available web pages about projects and organisations, such as project websites and press releases, are analysed automatically. Such information is labelled with its source; the chat itself does not search the internet live. The training data of the models comes from the model provider; FFG project data is supplied only at runtime as context and is never used to train the underlying models. AI-generated content can be inaccurate — please verify critical statements against the original source.
Feedback and corrections
We expressly invite project leads and participating organizations to send us feedback on how your projects, results and summaries are represented. Use the Feedback button on every page (bottom-right on every page, or via the megaphone icon in the chat toolbar) or email office@leto.space. Corrections will be incorporated promptly.

Data Protection Notice
When using the pages of LETO SPACE, personal data may be collected or processed. This data is not passed on to third parties for advertising purposes. To operate the platform we use the following data processors: Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany (hosting, servers located in Germany; this also covers file storage and our self-hosted, cookie-free analytics); Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), EU data region (Frankfurt), for error and performance monitoring and voluntary user feedback – this may involve technical data (e.g. IP address, browser information) and, for feedback, the details you provide (name, email address, message); Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Azure OpenAI Service), West Europe region (Netherlands), for the AI-assisted chat and search features – this processes the chat messages you enter; and Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (Amazon SES), Frankfurt region, for sending system and notification emails – this processes your email address. Processing takes place in data centres within the European Union in each case; for providers with a US parent company, access from a third country cannot be entirely ruled out, and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in that respect. The contact data published as part of the imprint obligation must not be used by third parties for sending unsolicited advertising and information materials. Any such use is hereby expressly contradicted.
